What’s it take to write a fiction novel?

NaNoWriMo 2007 - Day 5

One of my life goals is to become a published fiction author.  I know there are a lot of people who have this goal.  There is something compelling about being able to create an entire world from your mind and interact within it using characters who all have their own desires and motives.

So, I must answer my question above one way.

I am going to find out.

So, I guess I am only writing this here because it’s a good way of keeping myself accountable on the goal.

Over the last year I have been writing every day on at least 2 blogs, usually 2 posts per day and reading just as many blogs about all kinds of topics.

Now, I have one blog, and it is my own.  I don’t have to answer to anyone but you faithful few readers out there about what I am writing.  This makes my third post for the day (one is scheduled for later today) so habitually inclined to writing at this stage I am.

So I’ve decided that it’s time for a novel.  For one, I must begin working on my dialoguing skills.  I may try a few new post ideas in the process.  Now the questions is where should I write this?  Should I write it in blog format, or just on my own in a word processing program?

Decisions… decisions….
