I’ve been working on a digital painting entitled Layers of Abstraction and detailing some of my progress here.
I showed my mom what I have so far and her question was "What is it going to be?"
How do you answer something like that about something abstract? So I told her the name.
"It’s called ‘Layers of Abstraction’"
"yes, but isn’t it going to be something?"
um, well yeah… but it’s more statement than anything. For one, I am working in digital specifically on a piece that will ultimately be understood on canvas. I am using a technique which is probably closer to fumage than anything, but can actually be manipulated into shapes and forms. These forms are not concrete in that they move and interchange between each other, but they are static and are played out specifically to achieve the visual effect portrayed.
You know what? I’m not even really sure what this will ultimately be. But I’ve already titled it, so I must complete it.
Here’s where I am so far now. It’s a little tedious so I am doing as much as I can each day.
My passions in life are my family, my relationship with God, creativity and expressionism. This blog, decloned, reflects those passions. My belief is that all true creativity comes from the Creator first and foremost.
