Redesigning the church site.
Over the last few days I’ve been thinking about how I could redesign the church site to function better visually. I had been using an older template that was only lightly modified with two sidebars on either side.
The Problems
The old site was hard to navigate. The logo was too large. Smaller screen resolutions had trouble with it. Upon viewing, a visitor would be met with a link to everything at once. Information fatigue was probably an issue with the site. I know that I would feel overwhelmed upon seeing it. I wouldn’t know where to click first.
The solution
The more that I have played with this theme (WP Premium) the more I like it’s versatility. I have grown used to modifying it and decided that it was also a good solution for the church site. I don’t want it too look the same of course, so I brightened it up and gave it back some of it’s curves. I also revamped the logo to work with the theme. Here’s the final version of the church site.
