Long post, wrong blog.
This afternoon, I wrote this big long post and intended to post it here on decloned, but I accidentally posted it to the wrong blog. When I deleted it, I accidentally deleted the entire post.
So, while this is still fresh in my mind, I thought I’d share some other blogging errors that I’ve seen, witnessed and participated in.
- Writing when you are mad. I can recount more than one blogger who has gotten into legal hot water over their fingers running away with themselves over a moment of frustration.
- Categorical Overload. Apparently, this post belongs to 385 categories and they are all relevant to this one five sentence thought that makes up one quick blog posting. In fact it took longer to choose 385 categories out of the 5000+ that you have on your blog. 92 of these categories are new with this particular posting of only around 70 words in the entire post.
- Oops Images from cell phones. While things can be funny in the moment, they are not always so in the long run. If you post via a cell phone camera, you may post something of someone in some funny “in-the-moment” type of situation and it turns out well… not good for either the person or the relationship.
- Oh yeah, my parents read this! While writing is a personal experience, detailing those times in your own family where something happens can lead to embarrassing moments while eating out with your family. “What did you mean when you said… fill in the blank?”
There are some other errors that can happen as well. Probably a good reason to check out some tips for questions to ask before posting anything.
