I’ve met a lot of people who desire to get married, but only a very few people who have been married for a very long time. If I were to pick who I want advice from… it’s those who have been married for a very long time but to look at them, they are still “in love” like a couple looking to get married.
I guess that’s just my way of saying both.
I hear about a lot of broken relationships from people my age. They found someone, they ended up leaving each other and now they are somewhere between relationships.
We are not made for that kind of life. If you can’t commit, wait. And if you can, commit yourself and keep your word… no excuses.
That means going the extra mile, giving 110+%, whatever analogy works for you. Do it and you will realize the joy that comes from seeing that same beautiful smile you saw on your wedding day all the rest of your life.
PS. Or buy a dishwasher and help her with the laundry.
