Shai apparently tagged me about 16 days ago and I never even noticed. I guess that’s what happens when you move. You lose track of things and completely forget to check stats for awhile.
So in the spirit of chain blog posts, I must respond because I would feel bad if I just ignored Shai.
So, without further ado (is that how you spell that?)
1. I am a non-committal organizational freak . I constantly reorganize things. Most of the time, things are in some state of flux that makes me look like I am a completely unorganized clutter magnet. I think it stems from my battle with ADHD (which I was diagnosed as having when I was in college… which explained my study habits). You will notice that decloned goes through a revamped theme every 3 months or so because of this too.
2. I like parenthesis (they do everything). I constantly seem to be thinking when I write a sentence and feel like I have to comment right then on what I am saying using them (it keeps the thought flow going in my opinion). I use these a lot more than I ever should (how the heck do you break such a habit?). One side effect of this is that I actually have figured out how to punctuate them correctly (I think).
3. For some reason when I talk, I use run-on sentences where I just assume people know what I am talking about, so they just trail off . When I write, I’ll just use the little “…” to show this. Probably just another bad habit I picked up… (I probably could have just ended that with a single period, but I assume that there must be more to that statement like “somewhere” or “but I do it anyway” or “I’m just doing it here to illustrate what I am talking about…”).
4. I am a gadget-hack-a-holic. If I could figure out a way to turn lights on and off via email, I’d do it. My laptop has run several different flavors of linux in the past year, I currently have Mediawiki installed using Netserver as a knowledgebase on the home network between Becca and myself to manage todo lists and some personal journaling. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, then it’s okay too. Just know that If I could install linux on a toaster, I’d do it if only to prove I could.
5. I inherited my grandma’s great knack for creating recipes from scratch. Yesterday, I made a pretty decent enchilada sauce, but since I don’t measure anything and make everything on whims and taste I don’t think I could reproduce it exactly. I also tend to be a pretty good good (Becca tells me). She likes my alfredo sauce made with 2% milk.
6. I have a thing about textures. You know those 500 count thread sheets. Those drive me nuts. It’s like nails on a chalkboard to most people for me. I can’t stand to even touch it. Some suitcases have this type of texture too. Or the feel of zipping the zipper on various things that have a fine tooth zipper. Ohh, that almost makes me angry that those textures even exist. I’ve been known to throw out perfectly good clothes that I find annoy me in this way (or rather make Becca do it since I can’t stand to even touch it).
7. I read a select number of books on average more than three times a year. Among these are the Chronicles of Narnia, Stephen Lawhead’s “Byzantium”, and “Song of Albion Trilogy” along with “The Great Divorce, also by C.S. Lewis
.
8. I enjoy traditional weaponry. I need to renew my Archery qualifications sometime soon. I am hoping to buy a katana from www.badgerblades.com at the renaissance festival this year. Ax throwing fascinates me and I feel that I could do a lot better at it than my current level of expertise. Also, what is the correct method for throwing a Chakram?
I always feel obligated to do these things… so here’s a backwards approach, if you want to do this list thing, leave me a comment and I’ll link to you.
