William mentioned a couple of days ago that we are simplifying our lives and beginning to get rid of things we don’t need. Unfortunately for me, this means also packing up most of my shoes. William lined up my thirteen pairs of flipflops and made me pick which ones I was keeping and which ones to pack. Okay, okay. . .I know what you’re thinking. Thirteen pairs of flipflops, just flipflops, forget all my other shoes, may seem like a lot. But I swear I wear every single pair with in a week! Taking my shoes is like taking away part of my identity! Every pair has a specific mood attached to it. Happy shoes, angry shoes, playful shoes, funky shoes, rainy day shoes. Dr. Seuss should write a book about my shoes. Very reluctantly, after thinking very hard about all the colors, and emotions, I might be wearing in the near future, and with William’s help, we weeded out my thirteen pairs to just six. William thought this was a more reasonable number, and since I was unwilling to part with any more, we packed the other seven pairs and they are now getting dusty in storage. I’m not happy, but I think I’ll live.

does this mean you’ll only be half as moody too?
(Not after THAT comment!)
Rebecca, I truly admire your willingness to sacrifice for the cause. I certainly know I could never eliminate 7 pairs of flipflops from my closet!
