Creativity in Programming
I thought this was a great little idea for a program. It helps me and it was priced just about right. It’s more than paid for itself already with just the time saved. This is my example of finding a creative way to do something that I mentioned in a previous post.
There are certain things I do everyday. Within certain things I write and do, there are little repetitive tasks that need done every time I do them. I’ll give you an example.
Each week I put together a series of slides for our church for the screen projection we do. Many of the slides will follow one particular design format. I could just copy and paste these, but I end up wasting time doing so because usually I have an image or text already copied to the clipboard for that particular slide. I 
decided that this process could be automated, but I didn’t know how to do it, especially if I wanted to do it on-the-fly.
I found a program that lets me do just that. It’s called Perfect Macro Recorder. It actually will capture every keystroke and mouse movement and play them back as macros. It will also do this on-the-fly so you can work naturally with any program and not have to worry about how to get it to do a certain something. (note, do not try to do this with a different screen resolution, or inside a sized window)
Another example is for repetitive texts since it also captures text. I have 3 or 4 signatures that I could put on an email if it is for contacting another blogger, I’ll use my web address for Artist Hideout, if I am doing something with the church I’ll use the church address, or if I am just contacting family about something, I’ll use another completely different signature on an email. Perfect macro also makes this easy. I can assign each signature to a different set of keystrokes say Alt+9 is one signature and Alt+8 is another and since I use web-based email, it’s not like this functionality is built into my web browser.
Artists Make Life Simpler. I needed a program to automate tasks that couldn’t otherwise be automated, and Perfect Macro Recorder broke the mold and accomplishes those tasks easily.
