Art Submission: Marcel Willaert

One thing that I did as much as I could over at Artist Hideout was submissions of Art Work that people would send me.

Well, I’ve had a little bit of a carryover. I think I will continue the submissions over here. (need to get a new banner up about that).

Marcel just emailed me to show me some of his works. They are mainly mixed media sculpture… well, "Spanky" (which is what Marcel goes by) says it better in his bio on his site:

Spanky, aka Marcel Willaert

was born in Tillsonburg, Ontario, Canada way back in the mid sixties. Marcel has been creating various objects of art ever since with no training outside of some high school art classes. His passion has always been rocks and wire, combining them to create plants, animals and weird creatures. But for many years he did not pursue this passion but survived in the main stream culture bouncing from job to job in search of his dream. Not until he meet his mentor, (Chani) did he realize his talent, with her help and a little push here and there did he discover his hidden passion for creation. Being a native Canadian Indian has brought some very strange beings to life in his hands. Marcel loves what he creates and hopes that you will too.
